The Bliss of Solitude: The Enigma of Self-perception (Continues!)

Preface

One of our dilemmas is our inability to gather the right self-perception. One perceives oneself through the eyes of others and this leads to self confidence or delusions i.e. the one who is fortunate enough to get honest opinions, sets a correct line of action for his/her life (That also mean accepting who you are!) and heads towards becoming a person that he/she desire to be. Others who unfortunately get false opinions, end up having self-deceptions, delusions or in other case the skepticism about their personalities.
This is quite common among teenagers but the quest of seeking one's identity can prolong if the right measures are not taken at the right time.
Most of us keep looking for identity until we enter our professional lives. One thing that makes wonder is that most of us identify ourselves with our profession and take pride in it. By the way, this is what some employers do now-a-days i.e. inducing an false pride in you and motivating you to work on something that you won't like to work.

For instance, I have personally noticed that a number time that I was having a very friendly conversion with a perfect stranger sitting beside me in a bus, train or plane journey and we were on the verge of becoming very good friends until he/she hands me over his/her visiting card and the terms became quite formal.

Self-deceptions:

For instance, in a Got talent program  a self-proclaimed-awesome-singer actually singing awfully in the opinion of judge and then giving flying fucks to judges' opinion, believes firmly that he/she is the uncelebrated and unsung  best artist alive on the face of planet earth. This is where his super-ego comes into play. For example following one:

I am not discouraging the budding artist as the story doesn't end here. Humans are amazing creatures as they turn in to whatever the strive for but getting the right perception about your self and based on that moving in the direction that yields the right result for you is very important.

Relying on Your Comfort Zones

Even Half-baked opinions lead to the disastrous situation like a girl posing for photos with a same old posture for years as she is very confident at least about that one pose. So we have comfort zones That is truly atrocious. Remember that duck face girl  ;):

Fortunately there are few remedies to that.
  • Keep trying everything you like unless you get a heavy collateral and monetary damage
  • Other way is to get inspired and follow a mentor.
  • Follow the best practices.
