SharePoint 2010: Microsoft online Portal does not open in IE

The other day working on a new machine I come across a problem that I could not access  (https://portal.microsoftonline.com/) i.e upon entering the site URL in IE I got a blank page. To sort out this problem, I tried the following steps.
  1. For adding Microsoft Online Portal   (https://portal.microsoftonline.com/) into trust list Trusted Sites of IE, first navigate to Tools -> Internet Options.
  2. Click the “Security” Tab.
  3. Click “Trusted Sites”.
  4. Click “Sites”
  5. Click “Add"
  6. After that again move to the Security tab, and click Internet.
  7. Click Custom Level.
  8. Scroll down to Active scripting.
  9. Click Enable or even Prompt
  10. Click OK.
  11. Click Yes.and voila....you are done

  1. For reference I also needed to add https://*.microsoftonline-p.net, https://*.microsoftonline-p.com, and https://msol.vo.msecnd.net
